Editorial Standards & Principles
TravelGreece.live exists to counteract the proliferation of generic, unverified travel content. We hold ourselves to strict journalistic standards for sourcing, fact-checking, and transparency.
1. Sourcing and Verification
Every island guide and editorial feature on TravelGreece.live is built upon verified sources, not aggregate reviews or hearsay.
- No Anonymous Reviews: We do not utilize user-generated rating platforms to determine the quality or existence of a venue.
- Source Transparency: Every article includes a "Source Transparency" card detailing the exact official, academic, or primary sources used to verify factual claims.
- Historical Accuracy: Claims regarding Greek history, mythology, or archaeology are cross-referenced with academic databases or official Ministry of Culture documentation.
- Timestamping: Articles clearly display both original publication dates and "Last Verified" timestamps indicating when logistical details (like ferry routes or operating hours) were last checked.
2. Corrections Policy
Travel logistics in the Greek islands—particularly ferry schedules, venue ownership, and local regulations—change frequently. When we get something wrong or information becomes outdated, we correct it transparently.
If a substantive error regarding safety, severe logistical disruption, or historical fact is found, we will:
- Correct the error immediately in the text.
- Append a dated correction notice to the bottom of the article.
- If the error posed a significant safety or planning risk, we will add a prominent Traveler Advisory banner to the top of the piece.
3. Commercial Disclosure
TravelGreece.live maintains a sister-site relationship with Teleporio. Acquired Teleporio intellectual property/products are labeled as planning or assistance paths, and remain distinct from editorial content.
- No Pay-to-Play Editorial: Destinations, hotels, and venues cannot pay to be featured in our editorial coverage.
- Clear Delineation: Links to the Teleporio Planning Tool or Concierge services are clearly marked as commercial/planning tools, not editorial recommendations.
- Affiliate Transparency: If we ever utilize affiliate links (we currently do not), they will be explicitly declared at the top of the article.
4. Privacy Principles
We believe travel planning should be private by default. Your desire to visit an island is your business until you choose to share it.
- No Commingled Data: We do not track your reading habits on TravelGreece.live and tie them to your Teleporio Concierge inquiries.
- Contextual Handoffs Only: When you use the Planning Tool Handoff, we only pass the explicit parameters you provide (destination, month, party size) to prime your session.
- Zero-Party Data Focus: We prefer to ask you what you want directly rather than inferring it through covert tracking pixels.
- Concierge Confidentiality: Submissions to the Concierge Intake are treated with strict confidentiality and are never used to serve targeted advertisements across the web.
